Fall!

Post by heyzeus »

It's still gonna be a high of 95 today, but this morning there was just some nice cool dry air hangin' out. It was nice. My kids thought it was cold, because it was actually below 80 degrees. Fall is the [expletive].

Fall is the best. September isn't bad, but October and November are better.

And here, we look forward to it raining. It's been two months since any rainfall. Then it was a quarter inch, last night we got an eighth!

It's been very nice here, with temperatures fairly cool in the mornings and evenings, and in the mid-80's in the afternoon. Some rain--remnants from the hurricane, and then heavy showers another day--but pleasant and mostly sunny the rest of the time.

But the sun's already setting a hour earlier than in mid-to-late June.

Got pretty warm in the homeland of Southern Illinois this weekend but there was nice breezes so the shade was pretty great.

My kids call this time of year "spooky season". They inherited their love of this time of year from me. October is my favorite month of the year.

Come down south, you can live in my attic. It stays pretty decent even in January. You can have my elderly beagle for company. She's dumb, but soft.
