Getting to know Chip; a lesson in baseball vernacular

Lets do some homework on the off day, shall we..

Baltimore Chop : A Ball hit in front of the plate that takes a high hop over the infielders
Texas Lawn Dart: Short pop fly just over the infielders
Dirt Dipper: Someone who places the dirt from a baseball infield in his mouth
Down Town: Where homers go to die
Hole Shot: A ball hit in a gap between any two outfields
Not Afraid of Doing His Laundry: Any player that will dive for the ball to make the play
Pea rod: Travel of the ball in a straight line
That ball had hair on it: (Exact meaning unclear) but usually a hot grounder
Twin-nighter: 2 games in a row played at night
Unhitch his ice wagon: which means he can't run fast.
Corker: A hard hit ball.
Daisy Cutter, Skimmer: A low pitched ball, hit sharply along the surface of the ground, through the grass, without rebounding to any extent.
Banjo hitter: A hitter who notches a lot of bloop hits without hard contact.
Rhubarb: A fight or scuffle.
Muckle: Power Hitter
Cranks, Bugs, Rooters: Fans
Dew Drop: High Arching Pitch
Jumjam: Wild Pitch

Shrubbery: trees and plants beyond the CF wall. This is the second worst.
The pentagon: home plate
Center cut: any pitch that is in the strike zone.

Good question. I do remember, that while mired in a slump, Jason Giambi used to wear a golden thong under his uniform. Maybe it helped his hip-rotation..

Couple from last night

Harness: catcher's gear, maybe specifically the helmet but who knows
Playing pepper: sharp ground ball back to the pitcher
