590 The Fan KFNS to cut local programming

KFNS, a St. Louis sports-talk radio station known locally as 590 The Fan, plans to drop local programming after this weekend.

KFNS owner Dave Zobrist has informed the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that this change comes as a “cost-cutting move” as he attempts to find a buyer. Zobrist has held ownership rights since 2021.

Current programming consists of several shows with St. Louis sports personalities like Bernie Miklasz, Jim Hayes, Charlie Marlow, Cam Janssen, Kevin Slaten, and many others, according to the station’s website.

that's too bad.

also, i'll listen to certain bernie segments and i'd noticed the website the last couple days had been blocked by google/firefox/chrome because it was installing malware, or at least thats what the threat was. it only re-opened today, for me at least.

The relative apathy on this thread tells me that Zobrist didn't have much choice.

I haven't listened to local sports talk radio in over 10+ years.

I tried a Boston sports talk station once and only lasted about 10 mins.
