Rocket is on the pad and already fueling for a manned moon mission planned to launch this evening. First time humans have traveled beyond low Earth orbit since 1972. Despite everything, I think it's exciting.

yeah, it's pretty damn cool. Last time we had anyone on the moon was 1972 (I know this one isn't landing on the moon, but still), and so most of us here were too young to remember any of it, or not even born yet

CNN just reported they are having a problem with a battery aboard the capsule so there might be a delay or they night have to cancel. They were interviewing Sen. Mark Kelly and his twin brother Scott (both former astronauts) and Sen. Kelly said they have a two hour window to solve the problem before they would have to cancel. The countdown is at about 45 minutes.
