Dodgers and Brewers

This might be pretty obvious, but just pointing out that the Dodgers and Brewers are clearly the best 2 teams in baseball. It might not end up that way in the playoffs, cause anything can happen in October, but I feel confident saying these 2 teams are on their own tier.
The Brewers just took 4 of 5 from us, and I think it's OK to admit the Brewers are a lot better. And they're a lot better than anyone except LA. They have 3 dominant pitchers in the bullpen who are better than anyone we have.
So while it sucks to lose 4 of 5, I think a lot of credit needs to go to Milwaukee. They are just really freaking good.

Good for both for getting out of the NLDS.
Will be a fantastic match up.

It's tough to root for the Brewers, exactly, but I'm so sick of the Dodgers and their ridiculous advantage over every other team. I want to see their Enron style books-cooking come crashing down, and I want to see them have to share TV revenue in the same way every other team does.

I still say screw the Brew Crew; but I want them to win the LCS.

I met my wife in Milwaukee and visit the state often. I've got family up there (on both sides) including a 12-year old great nephew who has become a huge fan of the Brewers. He appreciates the history and traditions of baseball and can already beat me in a trivia contest so I am trying to foster that love of the game and that his fandom becomes life-long, not just a phase that will pass.
So let them get their World Series now. I'll have a bratwurst, Leinie and some cheese curds and thank them for saving us from a Dodger three-peat.

Any of the other teams could do the same. The DeWitts are richer than the Steinbrenners.

Yes and no. The dodgers do have an MLB sanctioned sweetheart TV deal.
But the DeWitts have lots of money and don't spend it
Both things are true.

This.
When the Dodgers' previous owner filed for bankruptcy, in order to goose the sale price out of the bankruptcy proceeding (and to avoid letting the court determine the terms), MLB agreed to only take its cut of the Dodgers' TV revenue based on an old deal ($3bn). The new Dodgers owner then signed an $8.35bn TV deal, and didn't have to share any revenue from that additional $5.35 bn.
Thus, the Cardinals made about $20 million off their TV deal in 2026, and the Dodgers made about $340 million (increasing to $500 million a year by the end of their deal).
So yes, all of the owners are wealthy. Yes they could spend more than revenue if they really wanted to, although nobody likes running businesses that lose money. But yes, the Dodgers have about $320 million extra in TV revenue alone, 48% of which should have been shared with the other teams but for their sweetheart deal, and instead gives them a ton of cash to spend while still being profitable.

Can you please explain what "should have been shared with the other teams" means?
